Last year, there had been an investigation by the NJ SPCA with specific instructions to the owner, but there was no follow up to insure that corrections had been done. When the AHS was instructed to inspect the Newark residence along with a member of the SPCA, the situation was abysmal living conditions for the five dogs that lived on the property.
Rather than face any additional problems or fines, the owner of the dogs released the dogs to the Associated Humane Societies. Their lives are now in our custody and we want to give these young dogs the very best that life has to offer .... something they had not known; the kindness that exists that they never experienced. Rescuing them from their spartan existence was a bittersweet experience. Now they would have medical care, a steady food supply, water, shelter -- a place where people will care for them & do the very best we can to give them a good life.
The four fellas and a lass are now enjoying time at the shelter until a lifetime of love can be found for each of them. Your donations will help us to help them.
