Andrew is an adorable youngster found as a stray in Sayreville. (Read the original story.) He was found to have a grade 3 heart murmur & a thorough examination was needed. Thanks to the Freehold Animal Hospital, they agreed to do an EKG for a reduced rate.
Andrew went off to the Freehold Animal Hospital and an Echocardiogram was performed by the cardiologist. The test 9 reveals ventricular septal defect, left to right shunting. Normal cardiac function and size. No medications required presently and defect may close with time. No contraindications to anesthesia presently. Recheck echocardiogram recommended in 6 months to monitor for secondary dilation of heart. No contraindications to adoption but adopter must realize that future echocardiograms will have to be performed.
Andrew has been neutered and now he is up for adoption with someone willing to recheck echocardiograms as needed and lots of TLC!!!
