How could anyone treat something so small and helpless so horribly? We ask ourselves this question every time we see a sad case come in, like Brownie and Rocky.
The call came in to our AHS Newark facility to retrieve a pair of dogs that were cruelly abandoned in a home in Clark, NJ. The neighbors called authorities when they realized that the owners moved out of the home, leaving the helpless pups behind. The ACO from our Newark facility retrieved the scared little dogs and brought them to the safety.
Brownie, a long-haired dachshund, and Rocky, a poodle mix, are both about 5 years old and the poor boys had been badly neglected. We can't imagine when the last was that the boys had seen a groomer, if ever. The first stop they made when arriving at AHS Newark was to visit the wonderful groomer there, Sandy, who treated them both to well-deserved spa days. They are looking and feeling like brand new puppies now and are ready to start their lives over again.
The boys are both very sweet and very close with one another so when they are ready, they will be looking for a home where they can stay together forever. In the meantime, if you would like to contribute toward their care, please text ResQ to 501501 to make a $10.00 donation, or donate to our ResQ Fund.
