It was obvious that Deuce lived a miserably neglected life and thankfully, when a judge gave the tenant an eviction, she advised the landlord she was leaving the dog behind.
He's 1 1/2 years old, very badly matted and quite thin. He was kept in a wire cage and according to our groomer, he sat in urine for most of the time. Whatever was in the dish in his cage -- he wasn't eating any of it. Deuce is a very sweet, gentle dog …. an angel who seems to have been in a bad place in his life and now realizes that his life's circumstances have changed to the better. Having spent several hours during the painstaking grooming, he hasn't shown any irritable qualities nor have we found a bad bone in his body. He was as patient with Sandy the groomer as she was with him. Life is good …. and it can only get better. Your donations help us in our never-ending effort to respond to animal cruelties and abandonment and rescue the victims.
Deuce has been transferred to our Tinton Falls shelter. He has had enough of cages and now needs more face time with staff. He is an adorable, happy-go-lucky lad who is available for adoption. For more information, call AHS at 732-922-0100, or e-mail us .... or visit to check him out! The shelter is open from noon until 5 p.m.
