Marley - Update Feb. 1st

Marley sure knows how to have fun, doesn't she? Just watching this goofy girl run around, throwing around toys and wiggling her little nub of a tail all the while, is enough to put a smile on your face. Marley just keeps on smiling too, despite all she's been through (see first two photos below).

Marley was turned in to our Newark facility in early November by the only family she had ever known due to their inability to care for her special needs. Read her story here. Poor Marley was itchy, irritated, and missing hair throughout her body. She spent several weeks getting being treated in the AHS- Newark medical department and started on the road to recovery. Marley was then transferred to us at AHS/Popcorn Park where her medical treatment continues.

Marley has allergies and for anyone that has had a pet with allergies knows, there is a lot of trial and error involved with finding the right treatment for your pet that will give them relief. The varieties of treatments we have tried for Marley have been costly, but we will not give up until we can get this adorable little lady in tip-top shape again. Her treatment is being funded by our Res-Q Fund which we rely on so often in cases such as this, and which is constantly being depleted. If you can, please make a contribution to our fund - it would be greatly appreciated. Or please text HumaneHelp to 41444 to make a donation.

Marley is doing fabulous these days and we are so pleased with her progress. She is currently on a prescription diet and a medication for her allergies and she is feeling so much better, as you can tell by watching her run and play like a silly puppy! She is a little over 4 years old and such a ridiculously sweet and well behaved little girl. Nothing ever gets Marley down and what would really make her zoom over the moon with joy would be to get her clean bill of health and go off to a wonderful new life with a family that will love and care for her always.

Watch Marley in action!

If you're interested in adding this bouncing ball of joy to your family, come in and meet her, and you are welcome to speak with our veterinarian regarding her needs going forward. We are located at 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ and are open every day from 12pm to 5pm. In the meantime, enjoy watching Miss Marley goofing around and showing off what a little doll she is!
