Snoopy - Update November 15th

As you can see, our little pal Snoopy is making lots of progress and doing so much better already! Maybe you can't see it, because we realize that it still looks pretty bad to the average person, but when you take into consideration the condition of Snoopy when he arrived, this is an enormous improvement. Read about Snoopy when he first arrived.

He arrived one month ago and honestly, there wasn't a dry eye in the house when we saw the dreadful condition of this sweet, 7 year old dachshund. His owner couldn't explain how he came to be in this state, how he got the gaping, open wounds all over his body, who did this to him or why .. none of this could be explained. Thankfully, neighbors spotted poor Snoopy in this horrid state and forced his owner to get him help. Our veterinarian, Dr. Baris, and her team of technicians began helping Snoopy immediately, and haven't stopped since.

Snoopy actually came to us at a good time as we recently purchased a laser, thanks to the many, many kind and generous supporters that donated to us during the Ocean First Charity Challenge last spring. This, friends, is your donations being put to good use! The laser that we acquired has been so instrumental in Snoopy's treatment and is helping him more than you can imagine so again, thank you so much!

Snoopy continues to receive laser therapy every other day and it is helping immensely to heal his wounds. Our veterinary technicians continue to use surgical scrub on the wounds regularly and he is also on a regimen of medications and sprays that are aiding in his recovery. Through all this, Snoopy remains a sweet, loving and grateful little guy that takes all of his treatment like a little trooper. He is staying in our Vinnie Van Gogh Recovery Suite where he relaxes on comfy beds and blankets in peace and quiet, and gets all of the love and attention that he can hope for from our staff. He still has a long way to go, but Snoopy is well on his way to recovering.

We can't thank you all enough for your support in helping this little guy, and all of the special needs animals that have come to us recently for help. Sadly, they just keep on coming, and our Res-Q Fund is stretched to the limit every day. Please consider making a donation to our Res-Q Fund or donate by texting HumaneHelp to 41444 .

Thank you, also, for your thoughts and prayers for Snoopy. Please keep them coming, he really does appreciate it. We will update again soon on our darling little friend, Snoopy.
