Snoopy - Update Nov.8

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and well wishes for our little friend Snoopy. The outpouring of support that you have shown for this little guy is just incredible. We're happy to say that Snoopy is doing well and is making progress. He has taken up residence in our Vinnie Van Gogh recovery suite where we are hoping that the good vibes left behind by his many predecessors will help him along in his recovery. He is comfortable, happy, and getting better every day.

If you missed the original story of how poor Snoopy came to be with us, you can catch up here. Basically the story is this - this sweet, 7 year old dachshund was brought to us in the most deplorable condition. His owner stated that he needed to bring him in for help, at the nagging of concerned neighbors, and he just didn't know what happened to little Snoopy. Many stories were tossed around including an uninvited person coming into the home and inflicting the wounds upon Snoopy, to a faulty flea treatment. We'll never know and at this point, the only thing that matters is getting Snoopy better. He is getting better, but very slowly.

Snoopy continues to have his wounds scrubbed daily by our medical department and is receiving laser therapy treatments on the wounds every other day. As you can see, part of his back has been shaved to prevent hair from getting into the wounds and aggravating the situation further. Although the scrubbing is absolutely necessary, it is not always the most pleasant for little Snoopy and he gets through it like a little trooper. He gladly puts on his sunglasses and accepts his laser therapy regularly, and he certainly knows that all of these things, as well as the many medications that he must take every day, will make him better in the end. He's a strong and resilient little guy and we can't wait for the day when he is all healed and is pain-free.

Snoopy will be with us for quite a while receiving all of the medical treatment that he needs to get well again. We can't tell you how important our Res-Q Fund is in times like this, and how much we rely on your generosity. You can make a donation toward the care of Snoopy here or please text HumaneHelp to 41444 Thank you, and stay tuned for more from our delightful dachshund, Snoopy.
