Snoopy - Update Oct. 24

We realize that it may be a little difficult to look at Snoopy in the state that he is in, so we have not been posting as many updates as we normally would in a situation like this. We received some complaints from people that were offended by the initial pictures that were posted of Snoopy when he arrived a week ago but honestly, though they may be a bit graphic, this is what the poor guy looks like, thanks to some cruel individual that caused him this pain and suffering. (Read Snoopy's original story here.)

Snoopy has a sad story that needs to be shared. Whether his wounds are the result of an accident, intentional abuse, or a faulty flea treatment gone awry, Snoopy is suffering terribly, and it will take a lot of medical treatment and good care to get him to a pain-free and comfortable state again. We tell Snoopy's story, and others like him, because we want people to know that we do not just take in the easy cases, the highly adoptable puppies and kittens that come in one day and get adopted the next.

We take in everyone, adoptable or not, sick, healthy, neglected, abused .. it doesn't matter. That's what we're here for. That's what we do. That's why we ask for your support to help us in our work of healing the animals that need us, like Snoopy. We are a non-profit that gives everyone a chance, not just the easy ones. To help us in the important work that we do, please make a donation to our Res-Q Fund or text HumaneHelp to 41444.

Snoopy is making progress, slowly, but making progress. Our medical department is tending to his every need and keeping him more comfortable than he has probably been in months. Along with pain medication and antibiotics, Snoopy is getting his gaping wounds washed regularly and receiving laser therapy every other day to promote healing. Though he is down and depressed, it's obvious that Snoopy is feeling better already and we can't wait for the day when he is the perky, happy pup that he should be. He has a long, long road to recovery ahead of him. Please continue to keep Snoopy in your thoughts and prayers. We will update again on our sweet little guy soon. Thank you, as always, for your support.

Check out Snoopy's latest update - November 8th.
