A small terrier type was hit by a car and brought to the Associated Humane Societies Newark shelter by a City of Newark Animal Control Officer.
Due to the lateness of the hour and no veterinarian on staff, an AHS Animal Control Officer brought the traumatized dog to the Animal Emergency & Referral Associated (AERA) in Fairfield for veterinary care.
There were lacerations and abrasions that were cared for by the veterinarians. A green tattoo on the belly would indicate that she had already been spayed.
The AHS Res-Q Fund is set up for much-needed donations required for the sick, injured and abused strays that arrive at our open-door facility. You may make a donation, by texting HumaneHelp to 41444 or donate here on our website.
This little lady was named "Lucille" by the AERA veterinary staff. For more information on Lucille, call the AHS at 973-824-7080 or e-mail us email@example.com and refer to File 16178-SF.
