It doesn't take very long for the open door policy of AHS to rescue another shameful neglect case by an irresponsible owner.
A stray Shih Tzu was found with an embedded collar in his neck. The painful raw wound was infested with maggots and immediate care was needed. Thanks to donations to our Res-Q Fund, AHS has veterinary care to handle the sick, injured and abuse cases that come through our doors.
The very young Shih Tzu we have named "Wiggles" was sedated, shaved and given medical care; he was also in dire need of proper grooming.
Now that his wounds are healing (left and below) all that is needed is to repair a broken heart. Wiggles is waiting at our Tinton Falls shelter for a Halloween treat! If you would love to view a creature feature with this adorable boy by your side, call AHS at 732-922-0100 or e-mail us and refer to File 5375.
Since our door is always open to unwanted orphans, we always get lots of adorable purebreds waiting for "a new leash on life".
