Fiona, the last of our "Texas 7" has passed on. They came in the summer of 2011. You can read their story here.
We believe that Fiona was the longest surviving cat of all those that were rescued from such horrible circumstances Fiona was the tough one; she lived with Camille and Zoe, and would remind them often that she thought she was the boss. Zoe agreed but Camille -- well Camille never saw it that way and they worked it out themselves, each thinking they were #1. She was also the more vocal girl, "meowing" every time she saw her caretakers coming by.
In her later years she was put on pain meds to keep her comfortable from the arthritis caused by the horrible declaw that her original owners had done to her. About a year ago she started to mellow out at about the same time she lost her hearing. You could call her forever as she slept in the sun, waking only when she smelled dinner coming.
Goodnight for now girl, and say hello to Camille and Zoe for us.
