Rosey Update - June 14

Rosey is getting better and better every day and learning to enjoy herself, just like a puppy should. Her life now is such a far cry from that of just a few weeks ago, when Rosey lived a miserable life and suffered such pain from her abusive and evil owner.

We are thankful every day that the police officer and city of Orange Animal Control Officer did not take "no" for an answer when they went to the apartment and asked if he had a dog. We recently received the photos from the Animal Control Officer of Rosey when she was first taken from that residence and they are just heartbreaking. Again, we are so thankful that she was found and that she is alive today.Read Rosey's story when she first arrived.

We are happy to report that Rosey is positively thriving now and her injuries are healing more every day. She has taken up residence in our medical department where the whole veterinary staff spoils her silly and gives her lots of extra attention. Rosey is enjoying lots of long walks with her new friends and plenty of play time too. In the beginning, we could see that Rosey was a little hesitant about new situations and understandably so but now, she's made herself right at home. She is comfortable with all of her new friends and it seems as if she has put that whole awful experience out of her mind.

Rosey's abuser has a court date of June 30th in Orange Municipal Court and will answer for the charges of animal cruelty that have been filed against him. Rosey may be going to court, just for the satisfaction of watching her former owner squirm, but she hasn't made up her mind yet. Regardless, we are hoping for Justice for Rosey.

We want to thank all of our caring and compassionate supporters for the outpouring of well wishes that have been sent for Rosey. We truly could not save Rosey and the many, many others like her without your support. Please contribute to our Res-Q Fund or text HumaneHelp to 41444 to make a donation towards Rosey's medical expenses.

Rosey is obviously not ready to be adopted yet as she will need more time for her jaw and skull to heal but in the meantime, rest assured that she is doing well and loving life! Thanks again for caring about our little darling, Rosey.
