This could be the poster child for the "Hang Dog Look". It is not known if he was lost, abandoned, stolen or strayed. Sitting in one spot and waiting for someone, we wonder if he was abandoned and left to his own devices. Thankfully, a good Samaritan spotted the forlorn fella waiting to be rescued and, luckily, was saved before the oncoming snowstorm! He was brought to the AHS for "a new leash on life".
According to the finder, he found the guy roaming the streets of Newark. Hungry, alone, cold, and thirsty. He would walk up to kids wagging his tail and they would just run away in fear. I walked up to him and he had this sadness in his eyes as if to say 'why doesn't anyone want me' ? It took almost an hour for him to trust me enough to get into my truck.
HangDog is estimated to be about 4 years old and hopefully, with some good luck, he will be a smiley face in a short amount of time. Valentine's Day is almost upon us and he sure could use some outstretched arms enveloping him into their heart and home.
Thankfully your donations will continue to help all of the unwanted animals that come through our doors in the hope of finding a lifetime of love.
