We have a feeling that the last 24 hours have been the best time of Leo's life so far. Even though he's been poked, prodded, shaved, bathed ... it's probably the most attention he's got in well, ever! Since so many of you have expressed so much concern for our new friend Leo, we wanted to provide a quick update on his condition so far.
When we arrived this morning, it was quite heartwarming to see Leo sleeping quietly and peacefully. Although all of the other dogs were barking at the morning wake up, Leo continued to snooze away and it took a few times of calling him to wake him up to take his morning walk and medications. Although Leo has been all fluffed up with three giant blankets, a Kurunda bed, and even decorative throw pillows for added ambience, Leo was curled up on our heated floor with his head resting gently on a blanket. It must have been like a dream for him to be warm, comfortable, dry, and feeling a bit better than he probably has in months.
You will see in Leo's video that we found a few more things going on with this poor guy today and we're hoping that the list of medical maladies stops growing at some point. As we said in our story on Leo yesterday, his medical treatment will be quite costly, but giving this beautiful young boy a second chance at life is worth every penny. If you would like to donate toward the care of Leo, please contribute to our Res-Q Fund.
Leo had quite a busy day again today with running some more tests, shaving off a few more of those pesky mats, and venturing out of several walks. He was quite pooped at the end of the day, as you will see in the end of this video, and we will be giving him Sunday as his day of rest. On Monday, his shaving will be completed and he will get another medicated bath. Leo is loving every minute of it because we think he's starting to realize that all of this is bringing him one step closer to feeling better. Thank you all for your concern for our gentle giant Leo, and we will update again soon on his condition.
