The AHS received a call from the owner of property on South 9th Street in Newark. A tenant had moved out and in checking the premises, he found four male dogs that had been abandoned there. An ambulance was dispatched and the ACO brought back four dirty, filthy matted messes that needed relief from their uncomfortably painful restraint. The unneutered poodle mixes are about a year old.
Thanks to our in-house groomer, each dog has been cleaned, bathed, and stripped of all of the tightly woven mats that made moving somewhat difficult. Their personalities are great -- friendly, outgoing and energetic. They didn't deserve the irresponsibile treatment from their caretaker. The AHS has been in Newark for over 120 years and we continually attempt to overcome the stereotypical rumors of an inner city shelter.
All animals receive necessary inoculations, food, water, neutering, microchipping, etc. and find lifelong homes for those that enter or door.
We call this foursome Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael -- named after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Your donations to our Res-Q Fund help the continued efforts of our open door policy and will be greatly appreciated. For more information on this fabulous foursome, call AHS at 973-824-7080 or e-mail us and refer to File 139907, 139908, 139909 or 139910. The AHS has three facilities -- Newark, Tinton Falls and Forked River.
