Benson and Fortune Update - 9/28/2015

That's Fortune on the left and Benson on the right.

Our terrific twosome, Fortune and Benson, had their first spa day today and they are both looking (and smelling) good and feeling fine!! It was quite obvious that neither pup had ever had a spa day before but once they realized that nothing was going to hurt them, the both relaxed and actually liked getting primped and pampered! Of course not even an hour after their baths, both of them discovered some exotic bird droppings and raced to roll in it but luckily, we stopped them mid-roll!

Both boys are doing quite well and we are so happy that our AHS Newark facility transferred little puppy Fortune to us along with Benson. Fortune is helping Benson so much with gaining confidence and learning to trust people and have fun again. Fortune is only about 4 or 5 months old and the tiny guy is all fun-loving-puppy, even after breaking his leg when someone threw him out the window of a car. When the pair go for a walk together, all Fortune wants to do is be near Benson, sniff what Benson is sniffing, pick up what Benson has picked up .. it's quite funny.

And Fortune just wants to play, play, play! Obviously he is under strict doctor's orders to take it easy for the next 4 to 6 weeks while his leg heals, but he can't contain his excitement and tries to play with Benson every chance he gets. Benson is absolutely loving his new little friend and is entertained by his antics. He stood up on his hind legs today to play with Fortune and we are just thrilled that he is learning so quickly to have fun and put his awful past behind him.

Benson has also come a long way already with his trust issues with people. He now loves his caretakers and seeks out attention constantly from them. His little tail wags immediately when it's time for a walk and he will stop periodically while out walking to get some attention from his new friends. Benson has a lot of healing to do as far as his wounds go where he suffered an attack by another dog, but his emotional healing is well under way and we're so happy to see this little guy come out of his shell.

Thanks you all for your thoughts and well wishes for our little pups. We will update again soon on the B.F.F.'s, Benson and Fortune.
