It was near midnight when the AHS Animal Control Officer was directed by the Newark Police to a dog that was abandoned and tied in the middle of a field. Due to the overgrown grass, it would have been very difficult for someone to see this dog and he could have easily languished there until it died.
We call him "Zack" and he is extremely shy and easily frightened after what he has been through. Thanks to our Res-Q Fund, we are caring for Zack due to an upper respiratory infection. He is about 7 years old and once he is through treatment, he will be neutered, microchipped …. and ready to go to a wonderful home where he can feel loved and accepted.
Zack is at the AHS in Tinton Falls near the Route 33-34 Circle. For more information, call 732-922-0100 or e-mail us and refer to File#85685.
The Society also has many other lap dogs waiting for "a new leash on life". The shelter is open 7 days a week for your convenience.
