When the AHS picked up this Newark stray, the first thing we did was have him meet 'n greet Sandy, our in-house groomer.
The most pressing order of business was to remove the matted hair covering the eyes. We cannot imagine the difficulties in maneuvering a path to survive in a world where he was forgotten. He was probably loved and cherished …. for a time … but somewhere along the way either an owner gave him away, he may have strayed … or he was stolen. In any event, he has been on streets for awhile.
We call him Harry ….. Hairy Harry and now he is waiting for the most delightfully pleasant life that a wonderful home will give to him. We are just wild about Harry!!
He is a gentle soul and well deserving to be someone's closest companion. Your donation to our Res-Q Fund helps with all of the unexpected visitors that come through our doors.
For more information on Harry, call 973-824-7080, Ext. 118 or e-mail us and refer to File 138263-M.
Sadly, we see many badly matted animals arrive at our shelters. Matted dogs suffer with sores, urine scalding, crusty eyes, walking difficulties, etc. -- it is a condition so easy to solve! Before adopting a dog that requires grooming, be sure it is an affordable responsibility you can handle.
