Our new friend Leoti is absolutely loving life these days, since coming to us just a couple of weeks ago when she was, quite frankly, a hot mess! (Read Leoti's original story). Poor Leoti was ragged, hungry, tired and neglected when she was found in a neighboring town as a "stray" recently.
We really have to wonder what led Leoti to be out in the world on her own, completely emaciated and suffering with severe infections of the skin, eyes and ears. She showed no signs of being a stray that was struggling to survive for a long time on her own, such as fear, infestation of fleas, ticks, etc. Instead, she is a very friendly, loving dog that was likely dumped off when caring for her became too much of a nuisance for her owner. Whatever her story is, at least now it will have a happy ending.
Leoti has been enjoying the comfort of clean, fluffy beds, three square meals a day, daily medicated baths and medications, and of course, lots of playtime and socializing. She was a bit down in the dumps when she arrived, and understandably so, but those days are long gone. Leoti bounces outside every day to go for her walks and gives a happy hug to everyone that she passes by. We are confidant that Leoti will make a full recovery and enjoy a long, healthy life. This is all thanks to our generous supporters who contribute to our Res-Q Fund. We could not heal the special cases such as Leoti without your help. You can make a donation to our Res-Q Fund right here.
Leoti is not available for adoption yet, as we want her to be fully healed before she goes off to start her new life. But we will keep you all posted on the lovely Leoti's condition as she strolls down the road to recovery. Thank you for helping her along the way!
