He was just a young adorable Rotti mix pup – just imagine – exuberant, lighthearted and cheerful – he was happy to have a family. But soon he realized that he had no purpose in life; there was no interaction with the people that lived inside the house; they went to school, work, outings but he was never included.
And for 6 long years, he lived alone in a concrete cell without the benefit of any type of contact with the outside world. He was given food and water but there were other deprivations and he soon learned that this was his life. Thankfully, an animal lover and rescue group spotted the dog …. and by coincidence, the family was moving. The rescue group tried to find an adoptive family or foster to take in “Nicky” as they did not want it to go to Associated Humane Societies (AHS).
They weren’t too lucky at finding a home for the 6 year old Rotti mix so the dog was rescued by AHS. He will have the best of care, and interaction with others as that is needed for a dog that lived a life in solitary confinement.
