An adorable Pug was brought to the Associated Humane Societies as a stray from Newark. A horribly large tumor was hanging from the neck that had been left untreated for a very long time. Here are before and after photos of "Howie" the Pug who came to us with the hideously large tumor attached to his neck.
The neutered male is about 5 years old and was in immediate need of veterinary attention. The tumor was so large that poor Howie's nails, which were grossly overgrown, kept getting stuck in the tumor making it difficult for him to walk. Our vet and his staff wasted no time removing the tumor thus freeing Howie from his confinement. The tumor was removed by our vet, Dr. Ashraf Shehab and Howie is now resting comfortably. He would be thrilled to have a new family that will dote on him and his needs.
What a difference a day and some much needed TLC makes. Today he is looking and feeling so much better and is on his way to a new life. He still has some recovering to do but soon we will be searching for that very special person who will love and spoil Howie for the rest of his life.
Thanks to the AHS Res-Q Fund, we are able to help dogs like Howie, but the reserve is very low due to the efforts put forth with the Swimmer Pups.
Howie is just one of many, many needy orphans that have been waiting for a lifetime of love.
