Two Dachshunds had been discovered abandoned in a cage in a Newark apartment where they had been for over a week. Upon arrival, they were given all necessary medical attention and they are none-the-worse for their time caged and alone.
Within a brief period, the Society received a call from a family member residing in NYC who advised of a medical/health issue with the owners of the dogs. They advised that 7 year old Tootsie and 6 year old Louie cannot be taken by their owner or the family member at this time. Due to the open-ended time frame, it is not known if or when Tootsie and Louie could ever be reunited with her owner or the family.
In the meantime, we are keeping the Doxie Duo at our Newark facility and monitored by our veterinarian.
A donation will help us to care for this adorable duo until a decision can be made as to the future of this canine couple.
We will update our donors as we give reports on their health and future plans. Our thanks for your generosity in helping us to help them.
