Evan just wanted to let everyone know that he is doing just fine, and he hopes that all dogs and cats are snuggled up in a giant bed of fluff like he is on this bitterly cold night. If Evan looks a bit weary, not to worry, he's just fine. We had to wake him up for his dinner and evening bathroom break, and he was still a bit groggy.
Evan had a big day today. He spent some time in our medical department getting weighed in, then getting a cast change. Evan is slowly gaining weight but due to his severe infestation with whip worms, it is taking a bit longer than expected. Evan continues to be treated for the whip worms and we expect that he will make a full recovery.
Evan is still on bed rest while the breaks in his pelvis and his broken leg heal. He is doing very well and is gaining more and more strength every day. He has been spending his days going for several short walks throughout the day, visiting with his many new friends, eating his three square meals a day, and napping, which is what he needs more than anything.
Although Evan is still very food-focused, and understandably so, he is much more focused on people now. He is extremely mushy and affectionate and he bounces around every morning to greet his caretakers and flops on his giant bed to get his belly rubbed. How someone could let this lovable pup get in the condition he was in is just something we can't even imagine.
Evan truly hopes that you and your pets are staying warm during this unusual cold spell that we're having, and that your pets are inside with you, and not outside in the cold. Evan has been out in the cold, all alone, and doesn't wish that on anyone. Stay warm and please stay tuned for more from our darling friend Evan.
