We nicknamed him Mr. Bones when he arrived on Aug. 24th after being abandoned with a companion. He was tied to a pole with a female pit bull we named Bianca. But Mr. Bones was a mere shell of himself -- both physically and psychologically.
He may have thought that he was loved by his previous owner -- but they shattered his innocence when they tied him and his friend to a pole and walked away. They didn't love him enough to care for him and his companion. He wouldn't have lasted much longer on the street. The pit bull was traumatized by the thoughtless lack of care and responsibility by someone he had trusted and it showed when he walked through our doors. His head hung low; he was depressed and heartbroken.
But look at what a month can do --He came in at 30 pounds and has gained almost another 20 pounds! Bianca was not in as rough shape as Mr. Bones, but she too has improved. Thanks to donations to our Res-Q Fund, we are able to pull many hopeless animals through the rough times.
We are hoping for a new world to open up to both of them. For more information, call theAHS at 973-824-7080 or e-mail us.
