Popeye and Ringo belonged to a Jersey City man who was in the process of moving to Pennsylvania. He advised an animal lover that if no one took them, they would be left in the woods to fend for themselves. He said: "They'll be fine".
Popeye is a 13 year old who was obviously not as important as Ringo, a 3 year old Tibetan Mastiff. The older boy lived outside his entire life. He was malnourished, dirty and unkempt. When Popeye arrived, he was given a medical check-up, treated for worms and had a complete spa day! Popeye is such a sweet and gentle guy that absolutely loves everyone he meets.
Ringo, the 3 year old Tibetan Mastiff, would have also been left in the woods in the rural part of Pennsylvania. He was to go to Tibetan Mastiff rescue but when they visited the home and saw them both facing the same fate, they brought both boys back to Popcorn park. Ringo is very easy-going and laid back. The breed is a strong, protective type that would do best with an experienced pet owner. Ringo needs a fenced yard to roam and would not do well in a leash-walked only home. It will only take a moment or two of him getting acquainted that he does the big-dog lean against you for your attention.
Your donation will help us to keep an open-door policy to help.
Both dogs are available to good homes and need a better home than the one they had. For more information, call Popcorn Park at 609-693-1900 or e-mail us for additional details on either fella. The Society is open 7 days a week for your convenience.
